Idle Hour Elementary School

Thirty veteran family members were honored during Idle Hour’s Veterans Day tribute. The fourth and fifth grade chorus performed “How Do You Tell a Veteran Thank You,” “Stars and Stripes” and “The Armed Forces Medley,” accompanied by the band playing the “Marine Hymn.”

Fifth graders read essays thanking veterans, and student government leaders presented Ms. Sharon Messina, a Blue Star Mother, with a donation of toiletries for service members overseas and veterans in need on Long Island.

The PTA hosted a luncheon in the library for veterans and their families. It was a heartfelt celebration honoring all who have served.
